Geneva creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere. All the negative comments that have read under reviews seem to be 1/1,000,000 chances or people missing the true essence of Geneva College. There have been a few minor bumps for me as a student, but nothing Geneva wasn't willing to work with me on. I appreciate the love that Geneva surrounded me with so far.
The liberal arts profs are petty, uptight, too liberal, and put on a front of cultural Christianity; they also violate supreme court statutes and student's civil rights by grading unfairly and wasting class time with personal stories and their leftist agenda.
Go to Pitt or Grove City if you want a good job, (unless you are a business or engineering major at Geneva). On a positive note the campus is nice and safe.
Program to help black students Multi Cultural Student Union was disbanded and those funds to help were redistributed into the school. This cut out book money and other vital things we needed and cut out the representation of black students.
Last as an alumnus and former donor I do not appreciate their sketchy fundraising practices (e.g. promising to use funds for one thing and then using them for something else) that turned me (a would be benefactor away).
I stayed at Geneva for two years before I, like others could not take it any more because the administration largely impart was behind the coaches, and students. I was black bald into a situation, to deep for a review, DO NOT GO DO NOT FUND.
That being said, for a "Christian" college, their practices are nothing, but shameful and embarrassing to the lessons taught in the bible.
As well my freshman year I played football, they do NOT play there black players, only when it is convenient. Actually. The football team just doesn't like young kids with skill. Coach Demarkco is a good guy however.
Entirely overpriced for the mediocre education provided and professors care more about your personal life than actually sticking to the syllabus.
I, an athlete was assulted by both Assistant Head Coach Alan Bauman and Head Coach at the time Jeff Santasero mid game. The next day without any consultation I was removed from the team and there started a trail!! A TRAIL of racism until I eventually was FORCED, and put in a position where I feared my life, vs the fight for my education.
Horrible location surrounded by poverty and drugs.
Terrible campus atmosphere. Shelters it's students in a bubble of spiritual protection like that of a cult, hardly teaching them to be ready for the world at graduation.
The strictness of the school is enforced by a no grace Res-Life center led by some of the most ego-maniacal people I have ever experienced.
Ok academics but overpriced. The school favors students who are from out of state instead of from Pennsylvania. It is better for girls and not a good place for transfer students.
Very Racist institution! 3/4 black students leave within the first two semesters and garunteed 2-3 will be on campus after because schoools encouragement and silence on racist actions against students by faculty and racist actions against students by other close minded students.
Campus is beautiful and everyone you met greeted you with a smile!
Campus was for the most part safe though. AND NOT EVERY KID WAS BAD, JUST VERY SHELTERED
